When I took my first crash-course in Unity 3D, the instructor first showed how simple it was to program movement in the engine. I had had major difficulties doing this in other engines, and when he showed that the same effect could be achieved with 8 lines of code, I was floored. it's what originally hooked me on the engine. His little cube bounced and tumbled all over the place when the mapped keys were pressed, and he quickly remedied this by clicking a check-box, but I personally really enjoyed the stupid, fancy-free way the cube bounced. I was following along at my own station, and broke away at that point to duplicate the cube a dozen times until I had a whole herd of derpy bounding cubes. I began giggling like a fool and showing the rest of my team- none of whom were quite as amused as I was, but all agreed that it looked kinda funny. I knew I needed to come back to this at a later time.

This is a demo of one of the core mechanics of a game Idea I'm working on (which I don't have any good name for yet. Names suck). The idea of the game is a standard board game, but instead of players rolling the dice, they are the dice. all the payers (Probably a maximum of 4) roll their dice at once in the same dice tray. This is because the mechanic of fumbling the dice around until the desired result comes up gets pretty easy pretty fast, and if players roll their dice in the same area, they can actively choose to sacrifice their control over their own piece for a turn and instead ram their dice into someone else's to screw up their roll. So gameplay basically proceeds like so:

1. Players are prompted to roll.

2. 4-second timer starts.

3. Players lose control of their dice when the timer stops and they slowly come to a stop.

4. Player's pieces move on the board.

5. Hijinx ensue.

repeat.

Controls:

W A S D moves the dice.

Esc closes the app.
